Halfdan Harring is a Danish developer and the founder and editor of Nuze. He lives and works in Aarhus, Denmark, and built Nuze as a solo newsroom: one person writing the software, keeping the editorial standard, and publishing the morning edition.
Before Nuze he built cross-platform mobile apps and games under the HeadToHead brand, and he gives talks on entrepreneurship in Denmark. The through-line is the same work — ship something people can finish, and do not hide how it was made.
He founded Nuze in 2026 and launched it on 1 August, on the App Store for iPhone and at nuzenews.com for the web. The product is a daily newspaper. Every morning it reads the world’s coverage, counts how many independent newsrooms told each story, and publishes the ten that matter. Then it lets the reader go. Ten, then done.
Nobody at Nuze picks the ten. Ranking is measured coverage, never an editorial choice, and a slot in the ten is not for sale. The paper’s job is to be right, not first: never first, always right. Stories are written to a Neutrality Standard so a hard-left reader and a hard-right reader can both finish them and think: that is what happened. Headlines say what happened. They do not tease, withhold, or ask a question.
The summaries are written by Nuze from that day’s measured coverage across many newsrooms, with founder oversight. They are not filed under a reporter’s byline. Nuze is the newsroom. Harring is the founder and editor who keeps that standard, and who answers when a fact needs a visible correction.
Reading needs no account. The paper is free. An account adds a streak and sync, never access. The public edition is the World edition — ten stories, ranked from a reading of the world’s press.
That is the whole of it. A morning paper from Aarhus, run by one person, that tells you what the world’s newsrooms agreed mattered today, and then stops.
