A health minibus and an empty truck collided head-on on a highway in southern Brazil.
What happened
A municipal health minibus carrying patients, relatives and health workers collided head-on with an empty truck before dawn on BR-373 near Ipiranga, Paraná. Twenty-three people were killed and five were injured. Police are investigating after preliminary evidence indicated that the truck entered the opposite lane. Most of those killed were minibus passengers.
