Mexican forces announced the death of the Cártel de Los Reyes leader after an operation in Michoacán.

Mexican security forces announced that Luis Enrique Barragán Chávez, known as R5 or El Güicho, died during an operation in Rodeo del Pinal, Tocumbo, Michoacán. Authorities stated that personnel returned fire after being attacked. A second man also died, and officers seized weapons, ammunition and an all-terrain vehicle.
