The SCO brought Asian leaders together as China and Russia reaffirmed their partnership.
What happened
Leaders from the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation gathered in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, for a summit marking the group’s anniversary. China’s Xi Jinping and Russia’s Vladimir Putin met alongside the event and reaffirmed their countries’ ties. Iran’s Masoud Pezeshkian, India’s Narendra Modi, Pakistan’s Shehbaz Sharif and Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdogan also attended.
